In my world, today is doggie day. 11/11, or "one, one, one, one," sounds like the dog's voice in Japanese, "wan, wan, wan, wan." As I write, my phone shows 11% power, my digital clock reads, "11:11." In these moments I feel the presence of my beloved dogs who have left us. "I am here," they are telling me, and I feel their presence. Together, not alone in the delusion of separateness, I move and go about my day, remembering that I too am living and dying, no different from them or any other beings.
Unable to perceive the shape of you,
I find you all around me.
Your presence fills my eyes with your love.
It humbles my heart,
For you are everywhere.
